Here is a postcard of Llyswen. This particular scene hasn’t changed except that the traffic has increased. Even 20 years ago I remember next door's West Highland terrier regularly strolling down the centre of this road like some kind of canine Gary Cooper approaching high noon. If it hasn’t been remade yet starring Tom Cruise you probably won’t get that reference.
Wouldn’t it be good if the world ran out of oil once and for all? People would be too bone idle to stray from the cities and the roads would sprout weeds. Excellent indeed.

Looks like a page from a janet and john book. i drive 40k miles a year and long for the day when i can throw my last set of car keys into the bin and get everything on foot or use pushbikes, buses and trains.

I think the photographer probably had to wait quite a while for that car to turn up and add a bit of excitement to his picture.
You know icedink I am ashamed to say that it was only yesterday that I worked out your name. Up til then I thought it was just a reference to the way you saw yourself writing i.e with cold or iced ink, dispassionately analysing etc maybe the iced ink might also imply the occassional writers block.
God I am getting thicker!

Good gracious. Well, that gave me a laugh. No, no hidden meanings, other than those in the eye of the beholder. I just like words that read one way and sound another way.
